Describing Piri Weepu

Brian Wala

It was windy as I looked out from the stadium to see Piri Weepu...Piri Weepu lead the haka and he looked to the other team and poked his tongue out. He looked really angry. I knew he was born on the 7th of September 1983 in Lower Hutt and his position is half back(number 9) he is 94 Kg and he is 28 years old. That his why he is really strong. When I saw him he was fierce. He shouted and he slapped his leg really hard. It looked like he wanted to tackle the other team right away.

Then the game started and the Wallabies kicked off. Piri Weepu got the ball and zoomed like a rhino. He used his amazing skills and fended one of the other team’s players and ran to the try line, but the fullback for the Wallabies got him. They were just 10 metres away from the try line. Piri Weepu got the ball and he ran like a bullet and hit one of the Wallabies and that was it... All Blacks scored their first try by Piri Weepu the warrior!

It was the Wallabies turn to score a try but Piri Weepu stopped them in their way. He was strong like a bulldozer. His defending was really good. He was really serious in the game and he didn't want the other team to score a try. Then Piri Weepu riped the ball of the other team and bumped, fended, crashed.

Piri Weepu is my favourite player because he leads the haka really well and uses his fame to help others. He shows sportsmanship and teamwork. He has never got a red card or yellow card.
